About Dr. Sydney Brown

Dr. Sydney Brown is a consultant, executive coach, and the Founder of SEB Consulting. With nearly two decades of experience, she serves as a strategic partner to leaders navigating the most pivotal moments of their professional lives—from high-stakes transitions to complex negotiations.

The Intersection of Strategy and Psychology

Sydney’s approach is defined by a rare duality: a deep academic mastery of human behavior and a front-lines understanding of corporate high-pressure environments. Before founding SEB Consulting, she worked at Rich Talent Group, a premier executive search firm in the Bay Area and NYC. There, she partnered with venture capital firms and high-growth companies to build the leadership teams behind some of today’s most recognizable brands.

Earlier in her career, Sydney navigated the complexities of corporate strategy and communications in the technology sector, holding roles at LifeLock and Symantec. These experiences provided her with an insider’s view of the stress and group dynamics that define modern enterprise.

Academic Excellence & Thought Leadership

Sydney’s work is grounded in rigorous psychological frameworks. She holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, a combination that allows her to address both the individual mindset and the systems in which leaders operate.

Her commitment to the next generation of leadership is reflected in her role as a Lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business. At Haas, she has taught Executive MBA students on the intricacies of Executive Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness, bridging the gap between academic theory and real-world application.
